Bro. Greg Ragland became Community Baptist’s Youth Minister in May 2006 and has demonstrated a deep love for his church family and its youth. The Centreville native and his wife, Stephanie, have spearheaded a resurgent Youth program that is Christ-centered, vibrant, engaging and one that affirms the worth of each youth to the church family at large and, most importantly, in the eyes of God. Whether it’s a group activity around the church or elsewhere, or going to Centrifuge or some other event, or just hanging out, Greg and Stephanie are always accessible, approachable, caring and loving in their approach to ministry. Bro. Greg’s development of a strong Youth ministry at CBC follows successful Youth ministries he’s undertaken at prior churches.
Bro. Greg graduated from Auburn University in 1998, with a degree in Elementary Education. Since then he’s both taught and helped his dad’s welding inspection business. Realizing that teaching was his “love”–he joined the staff at Thompson Intermediate School in 2004 and continues on staff there, teaching the fifth grade. He has been involved in choirs and music for many years. He also loves to play the guitar and harmonica.
Greg and Stephanie married in 2003. Stephanie, who’s an ER nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital, is originally from the Pleasant Grove area. The Raglands are in the process of adopting an infant girl from China who they’ve already named Hannah Grace.
Brother Greg has said, “I am very excited about what is to come in the future for Community Baptist. It is obvious to me that God is in our church. Stephanie and I feel very blessed to be a part of Community.”
